3 Days!

September, 8th, 9th & 10th 2014

Join us as we travel to Amish Country in Indiana. We will immerse our-selves in the traditions and culture of the Amish.

The early part of our first day will be spent traveling, enjoying the scenery, meeting fellow travelers and enjoying the fun and games on the bus! Arriving at our destination with a welcome reception, and time to freshen up for our evening meal.

Day two: After a hearty breakfast we tour the 1874 Homestead of Amish Acres. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Imagine, the peaceful serenity of the picturesque Amish Acre, as we explore the historic 80 acre farm, experience the lifestyle of the Amish through guided tours, hands on demonstrations, documentary films, (Genesis and Exodus of the Amish) charming shops, and farm animals. Share the heritage of these intriguing people. Time stopped over a century ago and preserved the Amish way of life nearly forgot-ten in today’s fast paced world. After our included lunch at the Restaurant Barn we have the opportunity to visit Amish Acres Kitchen to make our very own Shoofly Pie! This afternoon we visit Coppes Commons, famous for the furniture and kitchen cabinets known as “hoosier”. The industry is the largest in Nappanee and helped build the town. This evening we enjoy a Hearty Supper at the Restaurant Barn and the famous Broad-way Musical: “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”! The story is based on the coat of many colors story of Joseph from the Bible’s book of Genesis.

Day three: After our included breakfast we meet our step-on guide for a Countryside Tour which encompasses a stop at an Amish Buggy making shop and Rentown, After our countryside tour we travel to Shipshewana to take in the Flea Market and live Amish Auction. Lunch will be on your own at the Auction Restaurant. We depart Shipshewana.
